On Friday May 31st, from 10am to 3pm we’re holding and Archaeological Open Day at Shorne Woods Country Park. Some of SWAG’s archaeological finds from within the Park will be on display. These include:
- 10,000 year old flint tools made by our Mesolithic ancestors
- Artifacts from the Medieval Randall Manor
- 20th century finds from the WW2 R.A.F. camp
- 20th century finds from the industrial clay works
Do you think you’ve found something old? Bring it along and we will try to identify it.
As always with SWAG this event is FREE although parking charges may apply. All ages are welcome but under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
