The Thanet field survey continues.
The gird was laid out last week and today the fieldwalking began. The metal dectectorists were hard at work as well. We were looking for evidence of Roman occupation but most of what was recovered was medieval/post-med tile.

Some SWAG members have been involved with the Lyminge dig this summer.
Lyminge is a rare and important Anglo-Saxon settlement site. Archaeologists from the University of Reading along with university students and local volunteers are excavating here each summer
The Lyminge Archaeological Project is an ambitious programme of village-core archaeology examining the antecedents and development of a documented Anglo-Saxon monastic community founded by the Kentish royal dynasty during the 7th century AD.
