Dover dig deadline approaches

Canterbury Archaeological Trust excavations at a Medieval site in Dover increase in size daily and we now have 4 big holes on the go.   As the 18 October dead line approaches, we are up against it and if you or any of your group members would like to join in a big urban dig now is the time!

On site we have free parking, toilets, fresh running water, occasional servings of doughnut and buns, nearby shops and a friendly pub opposite for after work.   Volunteer times are 10.00 to 4.00.   You will need steel toe boots, hard hat and yellow vest (we can provide the last two probably).  We are presently doing 7 days a week and any time you can spare would be much appreciated.

Work on offer includes a range of digging jobs and finds washing – masses of good med. pot coming up.  People with at least a little digging experience would be preferred because we are a bit short on time for training.
